Tim McGovern has re-recorded Burning Sensations' 1983 classic "Belly of the Whale" and put it up on CD Baby while we await its release on iTunes. This is a brand new recording by the original artist...the same but fresher....this record was copied a lot off the radio because it simply wasn't available thanks to Capitol Records....now it is, better than ever!
So says Tim: "Since the major label that this song was released on in 1983 has yet to put this song on iTunes after numerous requests, I have re-recorded it in the spirit of the original and to the highest standards of quality. I believe this song to be as relevant today as it was in the summer of '83 and know you will enjoy hearing it as a fresh rendition of a timeless classic by the original artist."
Somewhere in the top of Waist High's list of favorite songs, "Belly of the Whale" was originally written in 1971 and was first released in 1983. The song received heavy rotation on MTV where it became a top 10 video during their start up period and was also given massive airplay on Pasadena's KROQ where I first heard it and fell in love with it.
